About this publication

This striking, extensively illustrated publication offers a unique visual record of Jane and Louise Wilson’s major multi-screen installation ‘A Free and Anonymous Monument’ - perhaps the artists’ most impressive achievement to date and arguably the most ambitious and adventurous film and video work for a gallery ever staged in Great Britain. Complete with numerous full-colour images of its premiere exhibition at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, the book showcases a parallel series of photographs and is further embellished with a wide-ranging keynote essay by acclaimed art and architectural historian Giuliana Bruno. It also incorporates an interview with the artists by writer and curator Mary Horlock.

Published by Film and Video Umbrella, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and Lisson Gallery, London, with support from Arts Council England, Film London and 303 Gallery, New York.
