Patrick Goddard's Animal Antics (2021) continues its inclusion in British Art Show 9 (BAS9) in Wolverhampton. The exhibition will tour across four cities, with the programme and presentation of works changing between each location.
Patrick Goddard's Animal Antics is an absurdist take on the effects of the Antropocene, from the perspective of a woman and her talking dog Whoopsie on a trip to the zoo. Dicsussion of man’s disruptive relationship with the natural world, and its perceived distance from it, foregrounds scenes of diverse species on display in cages and glass enclosures.
Animal Antics (2021) by Patrick Goddard was commissioned in partnership with Film and Video Umbrella, Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network (FLAMIN) and Galerie für Gegenwartskunst, EWERK Freiburg, with support from Hayward Gallery Touring for British Art Show 9.
