A new five-channel video installation by Marianna Simnett shows at New Museum, New York, continuing her preoccupation with anxieties around the body and the self. In Blood In My Milk, medical experts and scientists perform routine injections and operations alongside paranoid tales of sickness and transformation.
The new work features some recognisable characters and narrative threads - adapted from her Jerwood/FVU Awards works The Udder (2014) and Blood (2015), as well as the later Blue Roses (2015) and Worst Gift (2017), experienced as one continuous narrative with never before shown material.
