Geomancer

Lawrence Lek

Screening

Event overview

Tramway screens three recent works by Lawrence Lek; Play Station, Sinofuturism, and his Jerwood/FVU Awards film Geomancer. Using his characteristic style of computer animation, these three works attempt to map the spirit of our rapidly dawning age - one whose characteristics, Lek implies, include the growing ascendancy of Sino-Futurism, the idea that China's technological development constitutes a new form of Artificial Intelligence.
