Geomancer

Lawrence Lek

Screening & Talk

Event overview

Lawrence Lek's Geomancer screens alongside Play Station (2017) and Pyramid Schemes (2018) - the latter marking its UK premiere at the event. Whilst Geomancer and Play Station speculate on the future role of technology (and Artificial Intelligence in particular), Pyramid Schemes returns to the focus of many of Lawrence Lek's earlier works: architecture. All three are characterised by a computer-generated gaming world aesthetic and offer thought-provoking dystopian visions.

Programme:

Pyramid Schemes, HD video, colour, sound, 17 minutes

Play Station (Farsight Corporate Trailer), HD video, sound, 5 minutes 5 seconds

Geomancer, HD video, colour, sound, 48 minutes 51 seconds

The programme also includes a remote conversation with Lawrence Lek.
