A K Dolven

Exhibition

Event overview

In 2004, the infamous robbery of Madonna took place at the same time as the opening of A K Dolven's exhibition at the Munchmuseet – an art museum dedicated to the life and works of the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch.

The exhibition, from last winter, brought her work and the work of Edvard Munch together in the same space, and was part of the beginning of solo shows by living contemporary artists at the Munchmuseet. However, this show never opened to the public. The museum closed the day after the opening for the police investigation of the robbery.

Now, 15 years later, Dolven has been invited back to the museum to screen her FVU commission it could happen to you (2001) for their final exhibition before their move to the Nye Munchmuseet in 2020. A single-channel projection work by this acclaimed Norwegian artist, it could happen to you is one of a short series of video portraits by Dolven based on paintings by her compatriot Edvard Munch.
