My Father's Car

Nina Sverdvik

Exhibition

Event overview

My Father's Car shows as part of Quay Arts’ biennial Open Exhibition, titled and themed I must down to the seas again. The phrase is borrowed from John Masefield’s original 1902 Sea Fever poem, and titles an exhibition of sea and marine inspired works that reflect love, fear, and curiosity about the sea.

Nina Sverdvik's film recalls a treacherous journey from Norway to Britain, providing a meditation on the images that stay in the mind’s eye, and those that, slowly and inexorably, are lost to the passage of time. Read more about My Father's Car.
