No Ordinary Protest

Mikhail Karikis

Screening

Event overview

Mikhail Karikis has been nominated for the Jarman Awards 2019. This prestigious award, which takes its name from the visionary British filmmaker Derek Jarman, recognises and supports artists working with the moving image with a £10,000 prize.

A screening programme showing work by the 2019 shortlisted artists will tour to cultural venues throughout the UK, and will culminate in an extended two-day programme of expanded events at London's Whitechapel Gallery over the weekend of 16-17 November.

In Mikhail Karikis' No Ordinary Protest, a group of children ask serious questions about the world’s ecological future, and who is responsible for it.
