Prime Time screens as part of Videoclub Selected VIII, a diverse programme of artists’ moving-image works nominated for inclusion by the Jarman Award 2017 shortlisted artists. The screening programme tours the UK throughout May-July 2018 and arrives at its final stop at Nottingham Contemporary on 31 July.
Rob Crosse's 2017 commission Prime Time follows a group of older gay men as they journey on a cruise ship around the Caribbean. Deftly captured by Crosse’s oblique yet tender eye, the film is an affectionate study of human hopes and relationships, and a resonant meditation on how we both measure and deny the passing of time.
