The Sea is an Edge and an Ending

Lavinia Greenlaw

Event overview

Lavinia Greenlaw's 2016 commission The Sea is an Edge and an Ending screens as part of the Southbank Centre's The Search for the Meaning of Life - the opening weekend of their Belief and Beyond Belief festival.

The film explores what it means for your sense of self to come loose and for the past to float free, and is based upon a sequence written by Greenlaw about her father's memory loss and death from Alzheimer's.

The festival weekend features talks, panels and debates exploring religion, spirituality and belief. The Sea is an Edge and an Ending will screen several times throughout the weekend. Screenings on Saturday at 5.15pm and Sunday at 5.45pm will be preceded by a talk by Lavnia Greenlaw.
